The key points:
- Combines three programmes: FastGro Calf then either FastGro Ad-lib or FastGro Silage beef
- Make sure EVERY new-born calf gets three litres of colostrum (ideally from its own mother) within the first six hours from birth
- Feed colostrum for the first three days
- Then feed HST FastGro milk replacer (once-a-day) to six weeks old. Low fat (15%) and high protein (22%) combine to promote lean growth and encourage dry feed intake
- Day three onwards, offer HST FastGro Calf pellets (containing NuStart)
- Make clean straw and fresh water available constantly
- At 14 weeks, move on to either HST FastGro Ad-lib or HST FastGro Silage Beef, both with NuGrow supplement and cooked cereals
HST FastGro involves:
- NuStart and NuGrow supplements, designed to stimulate rumen development and function. They contain the optimum profile for vitamins, minerals and trace elements for skeletal development and muscle growth, together with etheric oils and a prebiotic
- NuGrow also contains yeast-based supplement to reduce bloat risk in high concentrate systems
- Cooked cereals for improved protein and starch digestibility. The expander component of the feed production line achieves this more effectively and consistently than other milling processes
- High starch and sugar content, 40% in FastGro Ad-lib and 30% in FastGro Silage pellets
